THE BALLET OF THE FOREST

The four large picture windows in the main room bring the forest to you. As you bask in the warmth of a fire burning in the wood stove, The Ballet Of The Forest is performed outside. Using the tall pine and cedar trees as their stage, the Stellar jays, hummingbirds and squirrels provide you with an afternoon's entertainment.

FRANKLIN STOVE

Katie's Kabin is equipped with a modern gas forced air furnace. For cool evenings, rainy days or the enjoyment of a warm fire, our Franklin style stove can bring warmth to both the cabin and your soul. This stove can be burned closed for maximum heat or open with the screen to allow you to enjoy the snap, crackle and pop of a warm fire. The stove burns significantly less wood than a conventional fireplace. You can buy wood from us or bundles of wood can be purchased at several locations in town for $5.  We provide a fire starter and directions for safe and efficient use @ the cabin. Three to four bundles of wood will generally be adequate for the weekend.

THE SPA

Great care has been taken to provide a private area for the spa and for sunning. In the evenings, you'll share the spa only with the cedar trees, as the stars illuminate the heavens above. There is an additional charge for use of the spa (see price list). The spa may not be available during winter months.

LIONS & TIGERS & BEARS, OH MY!!

    Fact or Fiction????

Actually it's fact. Pine Cove is a small village nestled in the middle of the forest with a human population of only 770. Occasionally, the indigenous creatures of the forest roam through the village. Generally their visits are in the early morning or late evening. A mountain lion has been seen sunning in the early morning by the Shell Gas Station. Last year our neighbors up the street were victims of a "Peeping Tom" black bear staring in their window. Bobcats have been seen on the streets of Pine Cove and coyotes serenade the locals as they meander through the neighborhood. The local rattlesnakes enjoy nesting in the less frequented woodpiles, such as ours. So Please "Stay out Da Woodpatch!!!!!!"   Fear not in the daylight hours, as these creatures are nowhere to be found. These creatures are frightened of you, but not your dog.
